Dear friends, fans and family,

If you haven’t heard by now, our home for the past 3 years has been forced from us. On May 1st Cable was shut down by Network Rail for the ongoing redevelopment of London Bridge station. You can read the press release here to get the full details.

So what does this mean for We Fear Silence? Well, whilst we work behind the scenes here is an update on the events we did have planned before the bell tolled at Cable…

· 17th May – Blackout X Swerve X Planet V – We were unable to find a venue on such short notice so this event has sadly been cancelled. Full refunds have already been issued, please contact info@cable-london.com if you have any questions.
· 24th May – EXIT Festival Launch Party – This event has been moved to HIDDEN in Vauxhall. All tickets bought through Cable are valid.
· 14th June – Butterz present Swindle ‘Long Live The Jazz’ – This event has been moved to FIRE in Vauxhall. All tickets bought through Cable are valid.
· 15th June – Blueprint with Ben Sims – We should have further information on this event very soon – for now hold onto your tickets.

It’s a great shame for the London clubbing scene to lose such an iconic and important club. We’ve held so many great parties and created so many memories. If you have any pictures, videos or just wish to express your love in words for this great club, you can do so by emailing memories@cable-london.com.

Thank you for your support this far and we look forward to seeing you on the dancefloor again very soon.

Arguably London’s premier Techno night returned to Cable on Friday 5th April, as Blueprint took over for a huge 12 hour marathon. This time round, the lucky Cable crowd witnessed true heavyweights in the scene, with Berghain legend and Klockwork records boss, Ben Klock, taking to the stage. He was joined by the face of UK techno right now, Blawan, with US master DVS1 and Blueprint head honcho, James Ruskin, all in attendance and performing very special extended 3 hour sets each. Massive shout to everyone who came down and made it truly one of the best nights we’ve ever had! Especially those who packed the dancefloor until 11am!

Commix first rose to fame around 2005, with a fresh and original take on Liquid Drum and Bass, coming away from the tougher, techier sounds of the early 2000′s. Already having releases on some of the biggest labels around including Hospital, Exit and Good Looking Records, it wasn’t until 2007 when they really burst onto the scene with their now legendary album, “Call To Mind”. The duo’s talent was instantly recognised by Metalheadz head honcho, Goldie, with his imprint then becoming a second home for the boys.

However, last year the duo, consisting of Guy Brewer and George Levings, announced they would split, with Levings continuing the Commix project on his own. Nearly a year on and the quality that became synonymous with the Commix name has continued, with George releasing a selection of Commix’s work from 2003 – 2008 late last year, entitiled “Dusted”. His new track “Fallen”, available for free download, showcases his maturity as a producer, stripped back in places but with rolling drums and an infectious bassline creeping in and out… classic Commix!

Ahead of his performance this Saturday alongside fellow DnB heavyweights and veterans, Goldie, Fabio and DJ Die, we sat down with George to find out his Top 10 Drum and Bass tracks.

Boddika truly is one of the busiest and most in-demand DJs in the world right now. The deeper, darker side of House & Techno has risen once again, with Berlin and London at the very heart of the scene, from the sweaty, bare concrete warehouse raves in East London, to the legendary giant power stations at the backbone of the Berlin underground. Boddika’s sound fits this mold perfectly; raw and stripped back, drawing influences from both Acid and Electro, harsh in places, but still with some sort of soul. His own imprint, Nonplus Records, personifies the scene perfectly at the moment, with artists such as Endian, Skudge and Kassem Mosse calling it home, and their much anticipated latest release, Think and Change, featuring the likes of Joy Orbison, Pearson Sound and Four Tet.

Ahead of his headlining performance this Saturday for the We Fear Silence 4th Birthday bash alongside Dexter, BNJMN, Roman Lindau and Braiden, Boddika has put together his own 7 Ways to Fear Silence.
Party Starters:

1. Radio Slave – Grindhouse – Dubfire Terror Planet RMX – Rekids

This track builds up to perfection, perfect groove and sound effects that builds to an epic climax, club destroyer.

2. Boddika & Joy Orbison – Mercy – Boddika’s VIP – Nonplus Records

I’ve watched clubs go insane to this rmx for the last year, it was only meant to be a personnel weapon, but due to demand i had to release it.

3. Bobby Peru (Paul Woolford) – Erotic Discourse (Original Mix) – 2020 Vision

Track I would most like to have produced:

7. The Other People Place – Lifestyles Of The Laptop Cafe – Warp Records (Album)
